Hi Yvette, sorry to hear of your troubles. It is quite a light weight scooter which could have something to do with the brakes breaking down.
Depending how bad they are, I suggest first getting an approved repairer to look at it to see what it would cost to get fixed.

Like other transport, they do require servicing which should pick up any issues before they become bigger problems.
A more solid scooter might suit your needs better if you do a lot of outside traveling, but then these are not as portable if you need to take it apart.

have pride mobility go go elite and after 2,5 years the brake has broken.
is there a more reliable unit?

I suggest also phoning the suppliers for more information about the weight of each part.
They should be able to tell you which scooters to get that Medicare can help with the costs.

I am interested in a lightweight scooter that folds so that my husband and I can use it to take trips and enjoy our weekends out. It is important that Medicare pick up some of the cost. It is also important that no one piece weigh over 50-100lbs

Hi Lillian, there are a number of fold-able scooters now available.
It depends on what features you can do without, as to how small it will pack down to and the weight.

I don’t know what you have currently got, but maybe the Luggie Folding Travel Scooter would be more ideal.
You could phone the suppliers for more information on how small they pack down.

Hi George, this scooter is not as portable as some others, and probably would not fit in a car boot.
You would need to get a trailer or a scooter rack and ramp to transport it around.
